Calico Creativities Workshops are designed to complement performances of the Calico Children's Theatre and engage children and parents through the artistic learning process.  Attendance at the performance is not required to register for a workshop.  Workshop pricing applies to children.  Parents are free!  Workshops are approximately one hour in length.

 The Calico Children’s Theatre is excited to offer SCOUTS TROOPS a special fun patch to remember their theatre experience.  Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can purchase these colorful patches for just $2 each at any performance or workshop.  Collect yours soon!

Once Upon a Time                                                      Presented by ArtReach:  A Division of The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati                                                            Recommended for grades K-5

February 5 - 12:30 p.m.                                                   Ticket cost:  $4 per child                                             Location:  Krueger Auditorium, Peters-Jones building

This fun and interactive workshop will bring new life to classic fairy tales!  With the help of professional Teaching Artists from The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati, children will learn the literary elements of storytelling as they write and act out their very own new fairy tale.  (Children will be placed and groups  and assisted in writing a fairytale.)  Maximum attendance is 40 children.

Troika!                                                   Presented by Russian Duo                 Recommended for grades K-5

March 5 - 12:30 p.m.                                    Ticket cost:  $4 per child                                 Location:  Krueger Auditorium, Peters-Jones  building

There is nothing more quintessentially Russian than the three-horse-drawn carriages known as troika.  This workshop centers around the era in Russia when troikas were used.  Participants will understand the context and significance of the troika.  And will learn the famous dance "Troika" and perform it to music.  Maximum attendance is 50 children.
