             ***CALICO CHILDREN'S THEATRE SEASON SCHEDULE FOR 2010-11***

Calico Children's Theatre is a UC Clermont College community initiative geared towards families with children ages 3-13 years of age (see performance descriptions below for recommended grade levels.)  All performances are held in the Krueger Auditorium on the UC Clermont College campus.  Performances are approximately one hour in length.                                   

The cost of tickets per performance is:  $6 per adult and $4 per child, Seniors (60+) and UC students.

                            CALICO CHILDREN'S THEATRE 2010-11 "FUN PATCH"

The Calico Children’s Theatre is excited to offer SCOUTS TROOPS a special fun patch to remember their theatre experience.  Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can purchase these colorful patches for just $2 each at any performance or workshop.  Collect yours soon!

Magic of the Night                                       Presented by Stephen Knight                       Recommended for grades 1-8

 October 28 – 7 p.m.

Featuring illusionist Stephen Knight in an original haunted magic show.  Full of ghosts and goblins, this one-of –a-kind Halloween event  offers thrills and chills for audiences of all ages without any blood or gore.  (This performance includes spooky costuming and props.)

The Gifts                                                                              Presented by Leland Faulkner                                           Recommended for grades K-8

December 10 – 7 p.m.                                                           December 11 – 10:30 a.m.

In a series of gift boxes live a variety of stories, magic, characters, and dreams.  Original, comic, and moving tales are wrapped in a package made of storytelling, acting, mime, and magic.  From personal family celebrations related with wit and joy, to classic holiday stories, originality, and handmade comedy abound.  Most importantly, the greatest gift of the holiday season is how we celebrate being together.  Come celebrate with us!

  

The Rockin' Adventures of Peter Rabbit                        Presented by ArtReach:  A Division of the Children's Theatre of Cincinnati                                                                    Recommended for grades Pre K-5

February 4 – 7 p.m.                                                February 5– 10:30 a.m.

Beatrix Potter's most famous long-eared character grows up into a rambunctious teen -- and he still can't stay out of the McGregor's garden!  It seems that the Rabbit family must contend with the young Peter, whose goal is to get out of the humdrum life in a rabbit's hole and play his guitar at "The Farm."

 

 

Russia and Beyond                                       Presented by Russian Duo                             Recommended for grades K-8

March 4 – 7 p.m.                                            March 5– 10:30 a.m.

Experience the mysterious sounds of the balalaika (a traditional Russian triangular 3-stringed instrument) and the expressive range of the piano in this exuberant collaboration.  This show includes dance tunes, classical music, gypsy melodies and Russian folk songs.  The audience becomes an essential part of the concert, by singing and playing Russian Percussion instruments on stage with Russian Duo.
